Abstract

Abstract : Pancasila and Citizenship Education (PPKn) are compulsory subjects that must be studied at every level of education at both primary and secondary levels, both public, private and equivalent schools. PPKn is a subject that has a special mission in developing character education. This research was conducted with the aim of describing the PPKn learning as character ordering of class X SMA Negeri 1 Parengan in dealing with the impact of social media. Because the era of globalization is marked by progress in various fields, including one in the field of information, especially the internet. Internet facilities that are going viral in people's lives are the rise of social media users. The most used type is Facebook, which is quite mushrooming among students at school. Facebook has benefits for students in communicating and interacting, but Facebook can also have a negative impact on students. This study uses qualitative research with descriptive methods of research data in the form of exposure in the form of interviews. Data collection was carried out using interview and observation techniques. The instrument used to collect data in the form of human instruments, the researchers themselves. To maintain data validity, data triaggulation is used. Data analysis activities start from the stage of data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. Based on the results of the analysis, PPKn learning is obtained as the formation of students' character in overcoming the impact of Facebook social media, namely creating a conducive class, creating a more pleasant learning atmosphere by using appropriate strategies and methods, providing facilities for students as character building for students. So that students can divide their time to learn by time to play, especially in using social media, especially Facebook. And students can minimize the use of Facebook in the school environment and outside the school environment.
