Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to determine the role of Civics teachers in increasing legal awareness for students in SMA Negeri 1 Jatirogo. The study was conducted at Jatirogo 1 High School. This type of research is a qualitative study with triangulation data collection techniques. The research subjects in this study were 15 students selected at SMA Negeri 1 Jatirogo. The subject taking technique in this study was to choose 15 children who served on the disciplinary team randomly. The key instruments in this study are the researchers themselves, and other instruments as supporting instruments. Supporting instruments in the form of interview guidelines and observation guidelines. The results of the research are: (1) students who break the rules and do not understand the rules in the school begin to increase. (2) All teachers play an active role in making students aware of compliance with regulations, including civics teachers in particular. (3) students begin to be able to apply the values contained in Pancasila contained in civics learning in their daily lives. The conclusion of the research is that the role of Civics teachers in increasing legal awareness among students at SMA Negeri 1 Jatirogo has been going well even though it must continue to be improved in making students aware of the law. It was seen from students who began to deter sanctions, students were more able to respect the teacher and student discipline who always obeyed the rules and students also cared about each other and as long as the researchers conducted research at SMA Negeri 1 Jatirogo the researchers saw for themselves the habits of students for example when arriving at the school gate the students come down and shake hands with the teacher's mother besides the lesson begins the students also carry out activities to pray together before the lesson starts, dress neatly according to the day and others. this is one form of legal awareness that is carried out by all the citizens of SMA Negeri 1 Jatirogo.
