Abstract
Abstract: This study uses qualitative research methods with a embedded case study approach. The sampling technique uses purposive sampling. Data collection techniques by interview, observation and documentation. Data validity uses source triangulation and technical triangulation. While the data analysis technique uses the following stages (1) Preparation stage, (2) Data Reduction, (3) Data Presentation, (4) Conclusion Withdrawal. The results showed that there were several roles of teachers in strengthening multicultural values, namely: (1) The role of teachers in the introduction of diversity, (2) The role of teachers in seeking media to support multicultural values, (3) The role of teachers in strengthening values multicultural through learning in the classroom, (4) The role of the teacher in strengthening multicultural values through learning outside the classroom. In the chapter on unity and unity of the Republic of Indonesia the basic themes that can be raised into multicultural education are themes that are in accordance with the basic philosophical state of Indonesia, namely: the theme of diversity / wholeness, the theme of unity and unity, the theme of democracy, and the theme of justice.
