Abstract

Abstract : Teacher’s strategy is a method used by the teacher in the teaching process with the aim that is easily understood by students and applied in their life. This study aims to: (1) What is the PPKn teacher's strategy in increasing students' human rights awareness in the school environment. (2) What are the obstacles faced by PPKn teachers in increasing the awareness of human rights of students. This type of research used is descriptive research using a qualitative research method approach. The population in this study were class XI students majoring in fashion, financial accounting for institutions, automation and office management in SMK PSM Randublatung. Data collection techniques in this study were interviews, observation, and documentation. To maintain data validity, data triangulation activities are carried out. Data analysis activities start from the stage of data reduction, data display, drawing conclusions. The conclusions of the results of the study are as follows. First PPKn teacher strategy in increasing human rights awareness of students in the school environment in class XI students of SMK PSM Randublatung 2019/2020 school year through the application of expository learning strategies, heuristic learning strategies and reflective learning strategies so students can understand the nature of human rights and apply when the learning process takes place and while in the school environment. Second, the constraints faced by PPkn’s teachers in raising the human rights awareness of students in the school environment can’t run optimally, which is dominated because of the diversity of student character and the others.
