Abstract

Abstract This study aims to improve the ability to write poetry class X F students of SMAN 1 Parengan, Tuban Regency by using image media. The objects subject to action were 32 students of class X F at SMAN 1 Parengan, Tuban Regency, 2019/2020 academic year. Data collection the ability to write poetry using the method of observation or classroom monitoring, interview techniques and tests to measure the increase in writing poetry. The validity used in this action research is validity democratic, process, and dialogic. For research reliability and data about learning to write poetry which is the object of deep study research, achieved by collecting and comparing data or information from related subjects, namely teaching teachers, students of research subjects, and researchers as observers. The results showed: firstly in a process, learning writing poetry has increased. Before implementing the action, students less active and less enthusiastic during the learning process and do not understand the assignment given by the teacher. After implementing the action, students are active and enthusiastic when participating in learning. Students are independent both when writing poetry, editing, and at the time of publishing their own poetry. Second, in terms of product, it can be seen that the mean value of the initial test was 59.17, while the average value at the end of the first cycle of action was 70.97. Increase in the average value of the action cycle I and the end of the action the value of cycle II is 7.09, obtained from the difference in the average cycle I of 70.97 with an average value of the second cycle of 78.06. Improvement from pre-test to with the end of the second cycle is 18.89, which is the difference from the pre-test average value of 59.17 with an average value of the second cycle of 78.06. The highest average score increase obtained at the end of cycle II. Based on the description above, it can be concluded that the application of natural beauty photo media can increase capabilities writing poetry for class X F SMA Negeri 1 Parengan, Tuban Regency.
