An Analysis Student’s Errors in Writing Narrative Text at Second Grade of SMAN 1 Senori, Skripsi, English Education Department, Faculty of Language and Arts Education, IKIP PGRI Bojonegoro, Advisor (I) Meiga Ratih, M.Pd., (II) Moh. Fuadul Matin, S.S, M.Pd. Key word: Error Analysis and Writing Narrative Text This study purposes to find out the most type of common error made by the second grade students in making simple past tense in narrative writing at SMAN 1 Senori. It concludes the common error using simple past tense and is devided into two parts: regular verb and irregular verb. Based on that purpose, the writer intends to answer the research question “ what kind of error do the students made by the second grade in writing narration using simple past?” and “ what is the dominant type of error do the students made in writing simple past narrative?”. In doing this study, the writer uses descriptive analysis in form of qualitative. The findings of the study is type of error in writing narrative text made by second grade of student in SMAN 1 Senori; (1) the type of error in regular verb are; omission with total error are 61 errors on precentage 55,45%, addition with total error are 26 errors on precentage 23,64%, misinformation with total error are 23 errors on precentage 20,91%. (2) the type of error in irregular verb is misinformation with total error 52 errors on precentage 100%. For the dominant type of error is omission (55,45%) in regular verb and misinformation (100%) in irregular verb. Based the finding previously, it can be suggested that (1) the teacher explain regular and irregular verb form more clearly to the students and make sure that the students understood about it, (2) the tacher has to creative in teaching writing, so it makes them interest to study more, and (3) the teacher ought to motivate her students to be more relax in learning English, because it is a process to reach a succes.
