Abstract
Setyorini, N.D.S.B. 2021. Analysis of Language Style and Educational Values in the Novel Ayah dan Sirkus Pohon by Andrea Hirata. Indonesian Language and Literature Education Study Program. Faculty of Language and Arts, IKIP PGRI Bojonegoro, Supervisor (I) Dr. Manuatul Hawa, M.Pd., (II) Dr. Nur Alfin Hidayati, M.Pd. This study aims to (1) describe and explain the form of language style used in the novel Ayah and the Tree Circus by Andrea Hirata. (2) Describe and explain the educational values contained in the novel Ayah and the Tree Circus by Andrea Hirata. The approach in this study uses qualitative descriptive data sources from the novel Ayah and Circus Tree by Andrea Hirata. Data collection techniques are used as a research process, namely library techniques and note-taking techniques. Based on these techniques, data collection can be done by means of observation with instruments. This research data validity technique plays an important role in revealing the realistic truth based on existing facts to distinguish valid or invalid against the object being studied. The analysis that has been carried out by the researcher can be concluded that the novel Ayah and Circus Tree by Andrea Hirata analyzes (1) five types of language styles. These language styles produce 40 personifications, 58 hyperbole, 11 paradoxes, 16 climaxes, and 9 cynicism. The style of language used in analyzing the novel Ayah and Circus Tree by Andrea Hirata is dominated by personification and hyperbole. (2) educational values in the novel Ayah and Circus Tree by Andrea Hirata found 5 values of religious education, 9 values of moral education, 8 values of social education, and 9 values of cultural education.
