Abstract

The Covid – 19 pandemic has changed all aspects of the life of the indonesian people, especially in the aspect of education, so that learning that started using learning with a face to face learning system must now be done with a distance learning system. Learning with this system using digital media. Whatapp is one of the applications tahat can be used in the distance learning proses during this pandemic. In whatsapp there is a group feature that can be used for communication with many students, civics learning is complulsory learning in accordance with the objectives of civics learning which aims to shape the morals and character of the nation’s children. With the group freatur in the whatsapp application so that learning can run effectively, the research method carried out in this study is a descriptive qualitative research method, in this study data collection procedure was by observation, interviws and documentation study, whatsapp group have a role in the effectvess of civics learning during the pandemic because application is easily accessible, the learning process using whatsapp group is effective because there are supporting factors from learning, including good relations between students and teachers and also the motivation of teachers and parents. Learning using this media shows effectiveness with student scores 60-70 23,8 %, score 70-80 42,9% and score 90-100 33,3%. Keyword: During, Civic Education, Whatsapp group
