Abstract

This research is motivated by various intelligences possessed by each individual. Where later intelligence is used to solve problems. One of the intelligences that can be used in this research is interpersonal intelligence. This study aims to describe students' logical thinking skills in solving story problems in terms of interpersonal intelligence aspects of social sensitivity, social insight, and social communication, especially on mathematics subject matter in the Two Variable Linear Equation System. (SPLDV). Where the subject consists of 26 students of class VIII B SMPN 1 Rengel, which is taken 3 students with the following details, namely 1 student of interpersonal intelligence aspect of social sensitivity, 1 student of interpersonal intelligence aspect of social insight, and 1 student of interpersonal intelligence aspect of social communication. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. The research instrument consisted of an interpersonal intelligence questionnaire, a story test of the Two Variable Linear Equation System (SPLDV) and interview guidelines. Data analysis techniques carried out Technical data analysis carried out included data reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawing. The validity of the data using triangulation techniques. The results obtained are students who have interpersonal intelligence aspects of social sensitivity meet two indicators of logical thinking, coherence of thinking and ability to argue. Students who have interpersonal intelligence aspects of social insight meet two indicators of logical thinking, coherence of thinking and ability to argue. And can meet the three problem-solving indicators based on Polya's steps but are still lacking. While students who have interpersonal intelligence aspects of social communication aspects meet all indicators of logical thinking, coherence of thinking, ability to argue and draw conclusions.
