Abstract

The Open-Ended Approach is a learning process in which there are individual or student goals and desires that can be built and achieved openly. In this regard, it is necessary to discuss the open-ended approach. This research was conducted with the aim of knowing the learning outcomes of seventh grade students of Al-Falah Junior High School in the 2021 academic year on line and angle material using the Open-Ended approach. This study uses an experimental quantitative research design because it is to determine whether there is a consequence of something imposed on the subject of students. The trick is to compare one or more experimental groups that are treated with one or more comparison groups that do not receive treatment. The population of this study were students of class VIII (as the test group) and two of them, class VII A (as the experimental class) who were treated with mathematics learning through the Open-Ended approach and class VII B (as the control class) which was treated using learning conventional. The data collection method used is the test method used to see student learning outcomes. The instrument testing used is validity test, reliability test, difficulty level test, and different power test. To fulfill the research requirements, normality, homogeneity, and t-tests were conducte Based on the results of the study, it was found that students who were taught with the Open-Ended approach could produce better learning outcomes than the conventional learning model.
