Abstract

This research is motivated by the influence of globalization that can threaten the attitude of love for the homeland. This study aims to find out how the role of PPKn teachers in fostering the attitude of nationalism in class X SMK Dirgahayu. The population in this study were students of class X SMK Dirgahayu with a total of 167 students, based on sampling technique, in this study a sample of 5 students was taken using purposive sampling technique. The approach used in this study is qualitative with data collection methods carried out through observation, interviews, and documentation. This study will use data analysis techniques with interactive models, this model starts from collecting raw data, displaying data, reducing data, and getting to verification and data conclusion. The results of the study show that: First, the role of the Civics Education teacher in fostering an attitude of nationalism has three points, namely the role of the Civics Education teacher as an evaluator in fostering an attitude of nationalism in the form of evaluation through affective and cognitive aspects of assessment. The role of the Civics teacher as a motivator is to encourage students and remind them to be more careful in using social media. The role of the PPKn teacher as a facilitator is that the teacher must act to facilitate so that students can be active and creative in learning according to their respective potentials and speeds. Second, there are obstacles encountered by Civics teachers which are divided into internal and external factors. Keywords : Teacher's Role, PPKn, Nationalism.
