Abstract

This research is motivated by an effort to improve the quality of learning for SMA ISLAM NURUL ULUM GAYAM students, including through motivation and student self-confidence which will later hone independence among students. In terms of learning, students will reach the maximum limit if they themselves have the confidence and desire or encouragement to learn, because with self-confidence and motivation they can increase students' independence in learning activities in class. This study uses quantitative methods to test the hypothesis. This data collection procedure uses a questionnaire or questionnaire. To test the feasibility of the questionnaire using V Aiken's to calculate the content-validity coefficient. Then the results are used for several tests of data analysis techniques using multiple regression and to test hypotheses using partial t test and f ANOVA test. The results of the study show that: (1) There is a positive influence between motivation on student learning independence, the results of the t-count self-confidence are 2.039, while the t-table value is 1.680. (2) There is a positive and significant effect between self-confidence and learning independence, which is 2,485 while the ttable value is 1,680. (3) There is a positive and significant influence between motivation and self-confidence together on the learning independence of SMA ISLAM NURUL ULUM GAYAM students as indicated by the Fcount value of 3,603, while the Ftable value of 3,204.
