Abstract

This study aims to find out whether there is an influence of parents' income and education level on students' interest in continuing their studies to higher education in class XII students of Muhammadiyah Cepu High School. The results of this study found the conclusion that, interest in continuing to college in class XII students at Muhammadiyah Cepu High School. The effect of parental income on students' interest in going to college is that there is no imitation, this is lifted on the t test where the significant value (X1) is 0.626 > 0.005 which means that the significant value (X1) is greater than 0.005. Similarly, the degree of influence of parental education on students' interest in going to college is that there is no influence, this is explained with a significant value of the t test (X2) of 0.080>0.005, which explains that the significant value (X2) is greater than 0.005. The increase in parental income and the level of education of parents towards the interest of students to continue to college is influential, this is seen with a significant value of test f, namely with a value of 0.029 < 0.05 which explains the variable (X1,X2) affecting the dependent variable (Y).
