Abstract

The covid-19 pandemic has affect the education sector, where face-to-face learning has been replaced with online learning. Online learning with the asynchronous learning method allows independent learning students can learn the material on their own, or repeat the learning stored in the learning management system (LMS). This research aims to determine whether there is an effect of using asynchronous learning methods on student learning independence. This research uses quantitative research methods. The population in this research were students of class XI IPS at SMAN 1Kedungadem, totaling 143 students. The sample is 59 students. Data collection techniques using a questionnaire. The data analysis methods used are validity test, reliability test, normality test, linierity test, correlation coefficient analysis, coefficients of determination analysis, regression equation analysis, and partial t-test hypothesis testing. The result showed that the coefficient of determination (R2) was 0,124, which means that asynchronous learning method had an effect on student learning independence by 12,4%, while remaining 87,6% was influenced by other factor not examined in this research. Meanwhile, the value of t-count (2.840)>t-table (2,002) and the value of sig. 0,006< 0,05 which means that the asynchronous learning methods has a positive ang significant effect onstudent learning independence in economic class XI IPS at SMAN 1 Kedungadem, Bojonegoro regency for the 2021/2022 academic year.
