Abstract

This study aims to determine the activeness of students through PPKn learning based on group discussions. This is motivated by the existence of PPKn learning which is less interesting and boring so that the activeness of students in class is quite lacking. Based on this, the teacher chose to use the group discussion learning model in order to bring out student activity. Based on this case, the researcher raised the title of building student activity through PPKn learning based on group discussions at SMAN 1 Dander Bojonegoro. This study aims to find out how to build student activity through civics learning based on group discussion at SMAN 1 Dander in class X IPS 1.This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach. In obtaining data, researchers used the methods of observation, interviews, and documentation. The subject of this study was a PPKn teacher at SMAN 1 Dander, and a representative of class X IPS 1 students, totaling 4 students. The student representatives have been selected by the researcher based on the advice of the Civics subject teacher and who have met the criteria set by the researcher. Data analysis in this study includes the stages of data reduction, data display, and drawing conclusions. Checking the validity of the data using source trigulation, technique trigulation, and member check. This is done so that the data that the researcher collects is valid and can be tested for validity.The results of this study indicate that building civics learning through group discussion-based civics learning on student active participation includes the interactive attitude of subject teachers in class, building civics learning in building student active participation through classroom learning, civics learning on student activity in terms of learning materials available, the role of PPKn subjects and the synergy of subject teachers to optimize time effectively and efficiently and the steps and factors supporting and inhibiting group discussions Keywords: Student Activity, Civics Learning, Group Discussion
