Abstract

The research, entitled Analysis of Code Switching and Code Mixing in AlmiraBastari's Odd Even Novel and Its Relationship with Indonesian Language Learning in Senior High School, was conducted to describe the form of code switching and code mixing in AlmiraBastari's Odd Even novel and its relationship to learning in high school.The presence of researchers in this study is very important, because researchers are data collectors and research instruments. The object of this research is the novel Odd Even by AlmiraBastari which was chosen as the data source in this study. Data collection techniques in this study were reading, taking notes, writing. Checking the validity of the findings in this study used a source triangulation technique, namely looking for information on data results by using more than one information. Researchers can check data findings by utilizing existing theories and data sources.The results of this study are external code switching data and mixed code insertion of words, phrases and clauses in Almira Bastari's GanjilGenap novel and its relationship with Indonesian language learning in high school. The data taken is the whole of the novel Odd Even. The functions of code switching and code mixing in AlmiraBastari'sGanjilGenap novel include a) explaining, b) commanding, c) asserting intent. The relationship between this research and learning Indonesian in high school is found in KD (basic competence) 3.5 to identify sentences in various languages, class XII even semester.
