Keywords: Grammatical Cohesion, News, Kompas.com. Grammatical cohesion is an aspect of language in discourse that focuses on the main ideas in inter-clauses so that they are connected to one another. This is so that it can be understood easily. One of them is the January 2023 issue of Kompas.com educational news discourse. This research was conducted with the objectives of 1) describing the use of references, 2) describing the use of substitutions, 3) describing the use of ellipsis, and 4) describing the use of conjunctions. This research is a qualitative descriptive. The data in this study are in the form of words in the educational news of kompas.com. In this study, the data source was obtained from news texts in the daily Kompas educational column. The technique of collecting data in this study used the technique of free-lance listening and note-taking techniques. The data analysis technique used is through 3 stages, namely, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions or verification. The validity of the data used with the theory of triangulation techniques. Based on the results of data analysis and discussion, it can be concluded that the use of grammatical cohesion found in the Kompas.com Education news text includes references, substitutions, ellipsis, and conjunctions. Thus, in the January 2023 edition of Kompas.com educational news, the use of this grammatical cohesion tool is very varied.
