Abstract

Wulan Safitri, Asna, 2023. Conversational implicature analysis in the daily activities of female students at Al-Falah Bojonegoro Islamic Boarding School. Thesis, Indonesian Language and Literature Education Study Program, Faculty of Language and Arts Education, IKIP PGRI Bojonegoro, Supervisor (I) Abdul Ghoni Asror, M.Pd., (II) Novi Mayasari, M.Pd. Keyword: implicature, conversation, female students Implicature is one of the pragmatic studies that interpret the utterances of speakers and interlocutors that contain implicit meaning. This research focuses on studying conversational implicatures which examines the meanings of implicatures and violations of maxims in the conversations of female students at Al-Falah Bojonegoro Islamic Boarding School. This study used a descriptive qualitative method. The stages of research in analyzing implicatures are collecting data, recording data, identifying, analyzing, formulating, and presenting data. The analysis of the research data shows that there are implicatures and flouting of maxims in conversations conducted by female students at the Al-Falah Bojonegoro Islamic Boarding School. Based on the results of the research that has been done, it can be concluded that the students' conversations in the data contain violations of maxims, namely: the maxim of quantity, the maxim of quality, the maxim of relevance, and the maxim of implementation, and various meanings of implicature and namely: complain, invite, order, explain, give know, remind, and confirm.
