Abstract

Keywords: poetry writing skills, imagination suggestions. This study aims to determine the results of applying the imaginative suggestion method in improving poetry writing skills and increasing students' thinking skills and motivation in writing poetry using the imaginative suggestion method. This research is a class action research (CAR) with research subjects of class X students of SMAN 4 Bojonegoro, which is carried out in 2 cycles, each cycle consisting of 4 component stages, planning, implementing, observing, and reflecting. The results of the research process show an increase. It can be seen from the results of observations during the learning process, namely student preparation, student seriousness, student activity, and student active responses in writing poetry. The increase in student learning shows an increase in the value of writing poetry students in the pre-cycle the average value is 63, the first cycle is 68, and the second cycle is 79, with the percentage obtained in the pre-cycle is 25%, the first cycle is 31%, and the second cycle is 79%, so these results show the imagination suggestion method can improve the quality of the learning process and improve the results of writing poetry for class X SMAN 4 Bojonegoro.
