Pd Keywords : Controversial Issue Model, Santri Culture, Critical Reason This research was motivated by the lack of student information and the culture of Islamic boarding schools that do not allow carrying gadgets, thus making students lazy to think and passive. This study aims to determine the critical reasoning of students who have Islamic boarding school backgrounds through the Controversial Issue learning model at SMA Plus Al Amanah, Dander District, Bojonegoro Regency. This research method is qualitative using a descriptive qualitative approach. The population in this study was grade X-2 students of SMA Plus Al Amanah which amounted to 31 students and used probability sampling. Data collection using observation, interview, test, and documentation methods. To obtain valid data, researchers use data source triangulation analysis techniques. The results of the research on the Impementation of the Controvesial Issue Model on Santri Culture in Improving the Critical Reasoning of Class X Students of SMA Plus Al Amanah Bojonegoro Regency increased after the application of the Controvesial Issue Model model through scores before the test and after the test using indicators trying to understand questions and respond to questions, express opinions freely and responsibly, and conclude controversial issues.
