Abstract
Salis, Ziana Aulida. 2023. Analysis of TikTok Social Media Usage in the Sales of Doll Products at Toko Arka Jaya Boneka Store Bojonegoro. Thesis. Departement of Economics Education. Keywords: Toko Arka Jaya Boneka, Social Media, Doll Sales, TikTok. This research aims to describe the usage of TikTok social media @arka.boneka in the sales of Toko Arka Jaya Boneka products and to identify the strengths and weaknesses of TikTok social media in sales Toko Arka Jaya Boneka. The research adopts a qualitative approach, specifically descriptive with a case study method, to gain an in-depth understanding of how Toko Arka Jaya Boneka Store utilizes TikTok in its marketing and sales activities for doll products. Research data were collected through in-depth interviews with the owner of Toko Arka Jaya Boneka Store. Additionally, direct observations were conducted to monitor the live broadcasting process on the TikTok platform, the uploaded content, and user responses to Toko Arka Jaya Boneka product promotions. All of this will be documented in the form of written records, screenshots, and photographs for further analysis. The research results show that Toko Arka Jaya Boneka Store Bojonegoro has successfully utilized TikTok effectively to increase its doll product sales by 60%. The maximum utilization of TikTok features and the creative and entertaining content uploaded on the Toko Arka Jaya Boneka TikTok account successfully captured users' attention and boosted the store's popularity. Moreover, Toko Arka Jaya Boneka also attempted to optimize the TikTok algorithm to increase the viewers of its account. TikTok has some disadvantages, such as limited content duration, challenges in building consumer trust, audience targeting limitations, as well as intense competition and content fluctuations. However, these do not overshadow its advantages, which include providing broad reach and rapid growth, containing creative and engaging content, supporting trends and virality, as well as user interactions and engagements. Not only serving as a marketing platform, TikTok has become an effective space for building consumer communities for Toko Arka Jaya Boneka. TikTok has also become an effective showcase for Toko Arka Jaya Boneka to gain credibility. Additionally, the TikTok platform has enabled the exciting process of co-creation for Toko Arka Jaya Boneka's business. This research contributes to understanding how TikTok social media can be effectively utilized as a marketing tool for small and medium businesses like Toko Arka Jaya Boneka Store Bojonegoro. The findings of this research are expected to serve as a reference for Toko Arka Jaya Boneka Store owners or other entrepreneurs who wish to leverage TikTok to enhance their product sales.
