Abstract
Sholekah, An Analysis of Character Educational Values in “Pawn” Movie ,Skripsi, English Education Department, Faculty of Language and Arts Education, IKIP PGRI Bojonegoro, Advisor (I) Fitri Nurdianingsih, S.Pd., M.Pd.,(II) Dr. Refi Ranto Rozak, M.Pd. Keyword: Character, Educational Values, Movie Character educational values are very important for all levels of society, but currently, many people assume that character education is considered normal and is starting to fade.Dharma Kesuma,dkk,(2011). (National Education System Law Number 20 of 2003 ) According to the Big Indonesian Dictionary (KBBI), character education is the process of changing the attitudes and behavior of a person or group to mature humans through training and teaching efforts. This research uses qualitative methods because this technique is one way to know and understand a social and humanitarian problem. in this 2020 pawn film, the author uses qualitative descriptive research to analyze the problem of character education values in the film. According to Lambert and Lambert`s (2013) quotation of Sandelowski, qualitative descriptive studies no longer require researchers to transport far from or into data, nor does it require extraordinary summary or conceptual data. Moreover, qualitative descriptive research is the least tough of all qualitative methods. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, researchers can find out the events in the film. researchers obtained data from film transcripts as a source and then analyzed sentences or dialogues. Character is a quality that is seen from an ethical or moral starting point. Character has the same meaning as morality. The main point of the given text is that character is a collection of values that influence thoughts, attitudes, and behavior, while personality is shaped by both environmental factors and genetics. So, a character is closely related to morality and encompasses one's ethical and moral values. - Genre Analysis: Recognize the genre of the movie and how it might influence the portrayal of educational values. Remember to adapt and customize this framework based on the specific movie you're analyzing and the key themes that emerge from the narrative. Additionally, consider the interplay between these different theoretical perspectives to provide a comprehensive analysis of the characters'' educational values in the movie. Education is interpreted as an attempt to humanize teenagers or the appointment of teenagers to the extent of humanity. Cinema or movie is the only new visual art form created in the world. 300 years.
