This study aims to analyze the semantic aspects in Lana Del Rey’s song lyrics, focusing on figurative language, word choice, and connotation, as well as their contribution to English vocabulary learning. This research employed a descriptive qualitative method. The data were collected from five songs by Lana Del Rey: Young and Beautiful, Summertime Sadness, Chemtrails over the Country Club, Brooklyn Baby, and Cinnamon Girl. The data consisted of words, phrases, and sentences containing figurative language, word choice, and connotative meaning. The findings revealed eight types of figurative language: simile, metaphor, personification, hyperbole, litotes, symbol, paradox, and apostrophe, with symbol and metaphor being the most dominant. The study also identified two categories of word choice, namely accuracy and appropriateness, as well as three types of connotation: positive, negative, and neutral, with positive connotation as the dominant type. The findings indicate that semantic elements in song lyrics help express emotions and implied meanings while contributing to English vocabulary learning by improving learners’ understanding of contextual meanings, figurative expressions, appropriate word choice, and connotative meanings. Therefore, Lana Del Rey’s song lyrics can serve as authentic learning materials for enriching students’ vocabulary and semantic understanding.
