Speaking Anxiety faced by Students in EFL Speaking Class (A study Case Analysis of English Language Research) Skripsi, English Education Department, Faculty of Language and Art Education, IKIP PGRI Bojonegoro. Advisor I: Meiga Ratih Tirtanawati., S.Pd, M.Pd. Advisor II: Moh. Fuadul Matin, S.S., M.Pd. This study aims to describe the factors that causal language anxiety in performance speaking in English classes as one of the causal factors to gain a broader understanding of this phenomenon. This study included descriptive qualitative research. This involves EFL Speaking Class students in IKIP PGRI Bojonegoro 2018-2019 academic year as participants. The instruments are researchers themselves (interviewers), observation sheets, reflection sheets, and voice recorders. Data is collected through observation and interviews. Data in the form of field notes and interview transcripts. data categorization has been made before formulating the findings. The findings of this study illustrate six factors that cause language anxiety. The first factor is the kinds of assignment that demands speech in front of class. Students are afraid if their weaknesses are revealed in front of class participants. The second is the fear of making mistakes during student speaking performance that usually occurs in pronunciation, grammar, and vocabulary. The third is self-perception or self-esteem. This is about students' thinking and estimation of their own abilities in mastering speaking skills. The fourth is the role of lecturer related to the ability of lecturer to maintain a teaching and learning process that is suitable for students. Next is the tension of competence that refers to student competence in speaking compared to others. The last is the lack of experience to English. This is related to the lack of training and the experience of students in speaking that affects their confidence and ability to speak. It can be concluded that the causal factors speaking anxiety faced by students are very useful and helpful indicated that EFL speaking class or methods are also important component in making students feel anxious or not.
