Abstract

Abstract This study aims to determine the effect of applying Jigsaw type cooperative learning model to the learning outcomes of Economics subject of employment in students of class VIII SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Sumberrejo. This research is a quasi-experimental research using pretest-posttes group design research design. The subjects of this study are students of class VIII SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Sumberrejo as many as 43 students, divided into two groups: Experiment Group of 20 students and Control Group of 23 students. The result of the research shows that the implementation of Jigsaw type cooperative learning model has better performance toward the improvement of the students' learning result. The result of the observation shows that the tcount is bigger than the ttable value (2,736> 2,020). This is in due to the increase in the average value of the test results. Data analysis and discussion concluded that "There is influence of Jigsaw learning model on result of learning subject of Economics (subject of labor) of class VIII student at SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Sumberrejo" is true and accepted.
