Abstract

Abstract The learning process in schools today does not improve students' creativity, especially in economic learning. There are still many educators who use conventional methods in a monotonous learning activities in the classroom, so that the learning atmosphere seemed rigid and dominated by the teacher, so that students become passive. Moving on from the "Getting Better together" idea of emphasizing the provision of wider opportunities and a conducive atmosphere for students to acquire and develop knowledge, attitudes, values and social skills that are beneficial to people's lives. From the above problem, it is necessary to have an appropriate learning model to improve the quality of learning that can involve students to think. One of the learning techniques that teachers can apply is Think Pair Share technique. Cooperative Learning Think Pair Share techniques include categories of learning models that can engage students and encourage critical thinking in solving problems in economic subjects. This type of research is Classroom Action Research. The research step consists of 2 cycles. The main aspect in classroom action research consists of four stages: planning, action, observation, and reflection. The subjects of the study were X-C students, which amounted to 28 students, consisting of 10 male students and 18 female students. The instruments used in this study are test questions, observation sheets, field notes, and documentation. The result of the research can be known that the achievement of students critical thinking ability in class XC MA Islamiyah Ampel Banjarjo Sumberrejo sub-district after following cooperative learning with Think Pair Share technique in Labor subject in cycle I is 50,10% and in second cycle equal to 77,58% . Then the implementation of cooperative learning learning with Think Pair Share technique in the subject of Employment in class X-C MA Islamiah Banjarjo Sumberrejo Sub-district Year 2016/2017 Year can improve students' critical thinking skills.
