Abstract

Abstrack This research stems from the problem of how the application of problem based learning model in improving students' critical thinking ability in the economic subjects of class VII in SMP MiftahulFallahSenori, how the students response to the problem-based learning model (problem based learning) in improving the ability of critical thinking Students on the subjects of Economics class VII in SMP Miftahul Fallah Senori, how the influence of application of problem-based learning model (problem based learning) in improving students' critical thinking skills in the subjects of Economics class VII in SMP MiftahulFallahSenori. The timing of this classroom action research is conducted in April until May 2017 for 2 cycles of 2 cycles each. This research is a research action (action) because research done to solve the problem of learning in class. This research also includes descriptive research, because it describes how a learning technique is applied and how the desired result can be achieved. The population in this study is all students of SMP Miftahul Fallah with the number of students 105 children. From the number of population, the writer took the class A VII A as a group of 40 students. Based on the results of economics learning on the subject of Human Being Social and Economic Creature by using the implementation of problem-based learning model in improving students' critical thinking skills obtained by students, from cycle I to cycle II continues to experience a significant increase of the average value The results of learning 67 to 80. From the above data, learning outcomes from cycle I to cycle II continue to experience a significant increase. Thus we can say that the use of problem-based learning model application (problem based learning) in increasing students' critical thinking skills can improve.
