Abstract

Abstract :This study is to determine the strategies used by teachers in reading skills in tenth grade in MAN 2 Bojonegoro. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative research. The subject of the research was the tenth grade English teacher MAN 2 Bojonegoro. Data collection instruments are interviews and documentation. The instrument is used to collect data on strategies and problems faced by teachers. Researchers analyze data using descriptive qualitative research. The results of this study are the tenth grade English teacher at MAN 2 Bojonegoro has a different strategy but the goal is certainly the same so that tenth-grade students can learn reading skills. The first teacher strategy is Understanding Text, the goal is that students can understand the text during the reading lesson and what is done is by searching for the vocabulary they know. The second teacher strategy is to use Individual Learning and Group Learning. The goal is that when reading skill lessons students can compile text and discuss it with other friends. There is a problem faced by the tenth grade English teacher in reading skill of tenth-grade students MAN 2 Bojonegoro is the lack of motivation and interest of students when reading, the latter is the difficulty of students in mastering vocabulary.
