Abstract

Abstract This study aims to describe the language errors in terms of the use of capital letters in writing negotiating texts of 10th grade students of SMK Santika Jiken in 2019/2020 academic year, language errors in terms of writing words in writing negotiating texts of 10th grade students of SMK Santika Jiken in 2019/2020 academic year, and language errors in terms of the use of punctuation in writing negotiating texts of 10th grade students of SMK Santika Jiken in 2019/2020 academic year. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. Data collection techniques are done through observation and interviews . The results of this study are (1) Incorrect use of capital letters in the negotiating text found 161 cases of errors. (2) Written words were found as many as 27 cases of errors in the negotiating text of 10th grade students of SMK Santika Jiken in 2019/2020 academic year. It consists of 3 prepositional writing errors, 20 abbreviated writing errors, 4 writing numbers and numbers. Misuse of punctuation in negotiating text of 10th grade students of SMK Santika Jiken in 2019/2020 academic year found 67 cases of errors. (3) These errors consist of 49 cases in the use of a period (.), 3 errors in the use of commas (,), 8 errors in conjunction (-), 2 error in using quotation marks ("...").
