Abstract

ABSTRACT This reaserch’s purposes is to analyze the ability of student’s creative thought in compliting quadratic equation. This kind of reaserch is qualitative description. The subject of this reaserch was the students who have ever got quadratic equation material. The collecting data methods were writing test and interview. The correctiveness data was checked by triangulation method. The data analysis techniques are data reduction, presenting data, and taking conclution. The analysis test it show that students are able to reach the creative thought ability’s state in compliting quadratic equation. The levels which are reached by the students are the creative thought ability 0 level (TBK 0), the creative thought ability 1st level (TBK 1), the creative thought ability 2nd level (TBK 2), and the creative thought ability 4nd level (TBK 4). The students reach different ability because the ability of compliting quadratic equation’s question were different. Clarifying student’s creative thought is based on some its indicators such as fluency, flexibility, novelty, and elaboration. Keywords: analysis, creative thought, quadratic equation
