Abstract
Abstract The mathematics learning outcomes of grade VIII students at SMP Negeri 1 Dander are still low. The learning model used is direct learning so that students become passive. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the active learning strategy of the index card match method on student mathematics learning outcomes on the subject of building a flat side room (beam) class VIII SMP Negeri 1 Dander, Bojonegoro Regency in the 2019/2020 academic year. This type of research is an experimental research with a research design used a quasi experimental design. The population in this study were all students of class VIII SMP Negeri 1 Dander, while the sample was 30 students in class VIIIC and 30 students in VIIID. The data collection method in this research is documentation method and test method. Data analysis in this study used prerequisite test analysis, namely the normality test and homogeneity test, balance test, and hypothesis testing with the t-test (Separated Variance) formula. The results of this study are that there is an effect of the active learning strategy of the index card match method on student mathematics learning outcomes on the subject of building a flat side room (beam) class VIII SMP Negeri 1 Dander, Bojonegoro Regency in the 2019/2020 school year.
