Abstract

Abstract Creative thinking is a process of thinking about various ideas in dealing with a problem or problem, playing with ideas or elements in the mind and producing a product called creativity. Increasing student creativity can be done with an open ended problem approach. Open ended problem approach is a learning approach that presents a problem that has more than one correct method of solving or solving. This study aims to describe students' mathematical creativity based on open ended problems in the material of the Linear Two Variable Equation System (SPLDV) class VIII MTs Miftahul Huda Sendangrejo . The method used in this study is a qualitative research method. Subjects in this study were 24 students. Twenty-four subjects were given test questions, then 6 subjects were selected to be analyzed and interviewed. To ensure the validity of the data, researchers analyzed the data in two ways: triangulation of data sources, theoretical triangulation, and method triangulation.
