Abstract
Abstract : The purpose of this research to find out the procedural ability and structure sense of student in distributive law material at MTs. Matholi’ul Fallah Simo. The research method used is descriptive qualitative. The subjects of this study 6 (six) students from Grade VII (Sevent) students of MTs. Matholi'ul Fallah Simo which consists of 2 (two) hight ability students, 2 (two) medium ability students, and 2 (two) low ability students. To find out the ability of students, namely by asking the mathematics subject teacher in class VII (seven) MTs Matholi’ul Fallah Simo. The instruments used were tests and interviews. The results of data analysis from this study show the procedural abilities of students with high ability shows that are able to meet the four indicators of Polya, namely: understanding the problem, devising a plan, carrying out the plan, and looking back. High ability students also fulfill three indicators of sense structure based on Hoch and Dreyfush, namely: able to recognize simple forms, be able to recognize compound forms as a single entity, and be able to manipulate. Students of medium ability only meet Polya's three indicators, namely: understanding the problem, devising a plan, and carrying out the plan. Students of medium ability only fulfill two indicators of sense structure, namely: recognizing simple forms and recognizing compound forms as single entities. Low ability students only meet two indicators of Polya, namely: understanding the problem and devising a plan. Low ability students only fulfill one sense structure indicator, namely being able to recognize multiple forms as a single entity. Keywords: procedural fluency,structure sense, distributive law
