Abstract

Abstract The purpose of this study was to determine the differences between NHT type cooperative learning models and contextual mathematics learning achievement in the system of linear equations for two variables of class VIII of SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Babat Lamongan in the academic year 2019/2020. This type of research is comparative research. The research design used was Quasi-Experimental design. The population in this study were all students of class VIII totaling 60 students, with a sample of class VIII-A totaling 30 students as experimental class 1 who were treated in the from of cooperative learning models of the NHT type and class VIII-B totaling 30 students as experimental class2 being treated contextual learning models. The sampling technique used is Saturated Sampling. Data collection methods in the study are interview methods, documentation methods, and test methods. Data analysis techniques or hypothesis testing using statistical techniques t test with the formula Separated Variance and the prerequisite test analysis is done including the normality test using the Lilliefors method, homogeneity test using the Bartlett method, and the balance test using the two-party t test. The results of this study are there are differences in the type of cooperative learning models NHT with contextual mathematics learning achievement on the material system of linear equations for two variables of class VIII SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Babat Lamongan in the academic year 2019/2020.
