Abstract

Abstract : This study aims to determine the difficulties experienced by students of class VII A SMP Negeri 2 Gondang in solving the problem of triangular shape material. The subjects in this study were 32 students of class VII A SMP Negeri 2 Gondang. Data collection methods in this study are methods of observation, tests, interviews and documentation. The instrument used for data collection was 7 questions that had been tested with content validation, reliability, distinguishing power and difficulty level. Based on the results of the analysis and discussion, it can be concluded that students experienced difficulties in solving triangular flat shape material questions. The level of fact difficulty experienced by the students was 67%, the concept difficulty level was 67.14%, the operation difficulty level was 69.6%, the principle difficulty level was 71%. The factors that cause class VII A students of SMP Negeri 2 Gondang include students 'assumptions that mathematics is a difficult subject, crowded class conditions, lack of students' ability to triangle material, lack of attention from parents, learning media that is less supportive and teacher delivery. which is difficult for students to understand.
