Abstract

Abstract Political participation is an activity carried out by a person or group of people to participate actively in political life, among others by choosing the leadership of the state and, directly or indirectly and influencing government policy. In this connection, further clarification is needed regarding the political participation of the community in Jatisari village, Senori sub-district of Tuban in the 2019 legislative elections. This research was conducted with the aim of describing several things that encompass political participation, forms of political participation as well as factors that influence political participation. This study uses descriptive qualitative research research data in the form of exposure in the form of interviews. Data collection was carried out using interview and observation techniques. The instrument used to collect data in the form of human instruments, the researchers themselves. To maintain data validity, data triaggulation is used. Data analysis activities start from the stage of data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. Based on the results of the analysis, two conclusions from the research results are obtained as follows. The first is the form of political participation of the Jatisari village senori sub-district of Tuban in the 2019 legislative elections, the first by participating in campaign activities and voting. Second, there are two factors that influence the political participation of the Jatisari village community, namely in the form of internal factors which include a lack of public political awareness and distrust of the government and external factors which include the practice of political money which is still happening among the community.
