Abstract
Abstract: NEA (Newman Error Analysis) is a method used to analyze errors made by students. This study aims to describe the level of student error in solving math story problems on the material of a Two-variable Linear Equation System based on the Newman Error Analyst in the era of online learning. Errors in the Newman procedure are: 1. Reading errors 2. Understanding errors, 3. Transforming errors 4. Process skill errors 5. Final answer writing errors. The research method used is a qualitative method. The research subjects were 39 students of class VIII MTsN 2 Bojonegoro. Data collection techniques using the method of tests, interviews and documentation conducted online. The results showed that students still made mistakes based on the Newman procedure. There are 5 levels of errors in the Newman procedure, namely: Level 1 students do not write symbols and are unable to interpret the meaning of words in the questions, Level 2 lacks understanding of the questions so students do not write down what is asked or what is known in the questions, Level 3 students are unable to change the questions. the story into the form of a mathematical model according to the instructions, Level 4 students are not able to solve the problem using the right method, Level 5 students cannot write the final result according to what is asked in the question. Keywords: Student Error Level, Solving math story problems based on NEA.
