Abstract

Education is a very important thing that cannot be denied, so that regardless of the conditions experienced, education must continue as it should even though in a different way. This includes English lessons that focus on "speaking" material with the Covid-19 pandemic conditions. Therefore, a good and appropriate learning strategy is needed so that the material is still conveyed. By conducting research on the "speaking" learning strategy at MTs Tarbiyatul Islam Soko Tuban in the Covid-19 pandemic, it is hoped that a strategy can be applied for effective learning. In this study using a qualitative approach. The researcher aims to study how phenomena occur naturally, namely about strategies for teaching speaking during a pandemic. The source of the data was obtained through an English teacher who teaches at MTs Tarbiyatul Islam Soko Tuban, namely by conducting in-depth interviews with evidence of learning. For this reason, researchers use data analysis techniques with Taxonomic Analysis, in which researchers carry out analyzes that are not only general exploration, but also analyzes that focus on certain domains that are very useful for describing the phenomenon or problem that is the target of the study. After conducting in-depth research, the results of this study explain that the English teacher at MTs Tarbiyatul Islam Soko Tuban predominantly uses Whatsapp and Google Classroom media to support the learning process, namely by utilizing the facilities and services available in the media.
