Abstract
Reading is one of the most poorly developed of our daily skills and yet it is a vital medium of communication. This research was conducted in one of the schools in Lamongan with the target of tenth grade students. This type of research used in this research is quantitative research. The quantitative research method is one type of research whose characteristics are systematic, well-planned and clearly structured from the start to the making of the research design. This study uses instruments in the form of tests and questionnaires. The test is used to measure the extent to which students understand a reading. While the questionnaire measures the level of honesty of students based on their motivation. Validity and reliability tests are useful for research because this research is quantitative, so calculations with validity and reliability formulas are needed. The sample obtained by the researcher is 70 students who will be the target of the research. From 70 students, it was found that there was a relationship between motivation and student achievement in reading comprehension. Keyword: Motivation. achievement, reading comprehension
