Pitono Singgih Muhammad, 2023. Implementation of the 3W2H Strategy to Improve the Creative Poetry Writing Ability of Class XI Students of SMA Nurul Ulum Gayam Bojomegoro Academic Year 2022/2023. Thesis, Indonesian Language and Literature Education Study Program, Faculty of Language and Arts Education, Advisor (I) Dr. Cahyo Hasanudin, S.Pd. M.Pd. (II) Nur Rohman, S.Pd. M.Pd. Keywords: Creative writing of poetry using the 3W2H strategy Poetry creative writing skills performed by students who experience difficulties in writing poetry can be felt by a person or poet. Judging from the lack of value that students get in writing poetry at Nurul Ulum Gayam High School, they make an idea so they can use the right method to apply. There must be a solution to help students to be able to help solve the problems of writing student poetry with organized poetry building elements. This research was conducted with the aim of knowing the poetry writing skills of Nurul Ulum Gayam High School with assessment indicators 1) language style 2) diction 3) rhymes 4) titles with thematic content 5) coherence of meaning with stanzas 6) mandate 7) imagery using the 3W2H method. This type of research by taking 12 students as subjects to be studied. They will be given 3 stages of the test to determine their ability to write poetry starting from the Pre Cycle, Cycle I, Cycle II. Poetry collection techniques through 1) class observation 2) questionnaire 3) test 4) documentation 5) interview 6) assessment of writing poetry. Which will also be assessed at the end of the meeting. This research shows that the creative writing activities of poetry for class XI SMA Nurul Ulum Gayam can be said to be good. 1) Students are able to make rhymes that rhyme aa-bb at the end of each line, 2) Students are able to adjust the title to the content they make, 3) Students are able to make dictions that are simple but contain a lot of meaning.
