Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aims to find out whether the influence of environment and the motivation to learn toward the students’ learning achievement on a social subject of grade VII in SMP Negeri 1 Tambakrejo. Data collection was conducted by distributing questionnaires which are the characteristic of cause and effect correlation using the method of quantitative approach. The numbers of the population are 264 students. The sample selected by the cluster sampling, so that the VIIA class was elected as a class research. The pre-requirement test analysis using normality test, linearity test, and multicollinearity by using multiple linear regression. The result of this study: 1) The environment has no effect toward students’ achievement in grade VII SMP Negeri 1 Tambakrejo in Academic Year 2016/2017. 2) The motivation to learn affect the students’ achievement in grade VII SMP Negeri 1 Tambakrejo in Academic Year 2016/2017. 3) The influence of environment and the motivation to learn affect the students’ achievement in grade VII SMP Negeri 1 Tambakrejo in Academic Year 2016/2017.
