The Effectiveness of Teaching Vocabulary By Using English Movie Avatar : The Legend of Korra to the Tenth Grade Students of Ma Abu Darrin Bojonegoro in the Academic Year of 2019/2020. Skripsi. English Education Department Faculty Of Languages And Arts Education IKIP PGRI Bojonegoro. Advisor (I) Meiga Ratih Tirtanawati, S.Pd, M.Pd., (II) Yuniarta ita Purnama, S.Pd, M.Pd. The objective of the research is to know the students score before using English movie media, to describe the students score after using English movie media and to identify the significance of using English movie media on the students’ score of vocabulary mastery at tenth-grade students of MA ABU DARRIN Bojonegoro Bojonegoro in the academic year of 2019/2020 This research used a pre-experimental quantitative research design. The design of the research is a one-group pretest-posttest experimental design. The population of the research was the tenth-grade students of MA ABU DARRIN Bojonegoro the Academic Year of 2019/2020 in which with sample 31 students from class tenth one religion with techniques simple random sampling. The researcher has used the simple random sampling technique. In collecting the data, the researcher used 20 items of multiple choice for pre-test and post-test. In analyzed the data, the researcher used SPSS program 16.0 for calculation of the T-test. It can be seen from the hypothesis test indicated that there was a Sig. (2-tailed) 0,000 lower than the level of significance 0, 05. It meant that Ha was accepted while Ho was rejected. And also, it can be seen from the mean scores of pretest that was 56,2933, while the mean score of post-test it was 69,84, It means that significant differences between the score of pre-test and post-test. It can be concluded that the students get good achievements in mastering vocabulary after taught by using audiovisual media (film). The students’ vocabulary mastery improves significantly, so teaching vocabulary by using audiovisual media (film) is effective in teaching students about vocabulary Keywords: Teaching Vocabulary, English Movie, Experimental Research
