Abstract

The library is a learning resource that produces a culture for students, namely the culture of reading. The purpose of this study is to describe the library as a learning resource for Civics subjects at SMP Negeri 1 Parengan during the Covid-19 pandemic. This research was conducted at SMP Negeri 1 Parengan using a qualitative research approach, namely descriptive qualitative research. Data were collected using observation, interview, and documentation methods. The data collected in the form of words were then analyzed by means of reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study on the library as a source of student learning in Civics subjects at SMP Negeri 1 Parengan during the Covid-19 pandemic showed that (1) the use of the school library as a source of student learning in Civics subjects at SMP Negeri 1 Parengan during the Covid-19 Pandemic there are 2 forms, namely, planting an awareness of the importance of reading with scheduling and making the library a place for outdoor learning and maximizing school functions. (2) The supporting factors in the use of the school library as a source of student learning are infrastructure, visit schedules, teacher enthusiasm, student enthusiasm, and good cooperation between school residents. While the inhibiting factors are the absence of visiting cards, the mood of students who are easy to change, and the nature of students who are different.
