Abstract

Abstrack :This study aims to determine the teacher's Interpersonal Communication strategy and its effectiveness during the implementation of Distance Learning at SMPN 1 Sugihwaras. The teacher's Interpersonal Communication Strategy is the teacher's Interpersonal Communication strategy in learning mathematics during the implementation of Distance Learning. This research is a qualitative research with a descriptive approach. The subjects consisted of 26 students and 1 mathematics teacher at SMPN 1 Sugihwaras. The data collection technique consisted of a teacher's interpersonal communication strategy questionnaire, a student response questionnaire to the teacher's Interpersonal Communication strategy and interview guidelines. The data analysis technique used is thematic inductive. The results showed that (1) the teacher's Interpersonal Communication Strategy during distance learning there were three, namely: (a) communication as an action or one-way communication, namely the teacher's interactive communication strategy during e-learning learning, the teacher explaining the students listening, (b) communication as a two-way interaction or communication, namely communication of teachers and students through private messages, students can ask questions and the teacher answers (Strategies for Improving Student Understanding), then (c) Transactional Communication or Multidirectional Communication, namely Teacher Communication Strategies in increasing student learning motivation ( 2) Effectiveness of the teacher's Interpersonal Communication Strategy can be categorized as Effective based on the results of the student response questionnaire to the teacher's Interpersonal Communication strategy with a percentage of 69.9%.
