Keywords: Reading comprehension, collaborative strategic reading, and the problems faced using CSR. The objective of the research is to describe the implementation of Collaborative Strategic Reading in teaching reading comprehension at MTS Islamiyah Malo. In this study, the researcher used qualitative descriptive research as the research design. The goal of descriptive research is to make the description about the factual phenomena in teaching to get the information. The researcher described the implementation of CSR in teaching reading comprehension. The methods of collecting the data were observation, interview, and documentation. The data were analyzed by following these steps, i.e., data reduction, display data, and drawing conclusion. The result of this research shows the implementation of Collaborative Strategic Reading in teaching reading comprehension . Based on the data of observation and interview which were done by the researcher, teaching reading comprehension using CSR involves four stages, they are: 1) Preview, 2) Click & Clunk, 3) Get the gist, 4) and Wrap up. The researcher shows the problems faced by the teacher, namely inadequate time to teach the materials, the teacher could not monitor all of students, students have less vocabulary and the students have less pronunciation.
