ABSTRACT Sedayu, Diyah Rahmawati. 2019. A Study on Teaching Speaking Using Narrative Videos to the Eleventh Graders of SMA Plus Al-Amanah. Keyword: Narrative Video, Speaking The research aims to find out how well understand they are about speaking English. Learn about the implementation of learning during class. Knowing what is happening in the classroom when learning starts until completion. Researchers can describe their research with this study. Another purpose of this research is that if you have not only a whiteboard and a book, there are many other media that can be used in learning. The researcher used a narrative video for teaching speaking. In this study the researchers used observation, questionnaire and speaking test to find out if students like and can accept learning speaking using narrative video as a method of well or not. The researcher can also find out the results of the various speaking test, questionnaires filled by the teachers and all the students of Class XI IIS2. The teacher gave some reasons through the results of the questionnaire study related speaking by narrative video. Statements in the questionnaire to explained that learning speaking via video is not an easy thing to be accepted by the student. But learning through this video has given the impression that appeal to students. The teacher said if their students only as love and look pleased at the time of the video in the playlist. Students have an opinion if they did not have any problems about speaking English in front of the class and 33.3% of students have problems if speaking English in the classroom. Finally, researcher can make conclusions in the research as follows; Video is one of the media used in English language learning more precisely speaking. This Video was taken from YouTube. Before using video as a media, teachers previously used audio for classroom learning. However, with video as a media, the student could not accept well because of the lack of vocabulary that they get could not understand the content of the video. And they could not hear well because native speakers who speak quickly and use American accents make students hard to accept them. To overcome this, researchers can create your own video with an accent from the researcher itself so that the students easily understand and receive well the content of the video.
