This study aims to determine the effect of image media on the ability to write news texts on eighth grade students of MAN 1 Bojonegoro for the Academic Year 2018/2019. This research is an experimental study with one group pre-test post-test research design. The design of this study tested the media of images on the ability to write news texts then find out the differences in their use or review their effects through student learning outcomes. The population of this study were all XII MAN 1 Bojonegoro which consisted of 4 classes with 166 students. From this number, a sample of 40 people was determined. The technique of sample collection is done randomly, namely the sampling technique with each member of the population having an equal chance of being sampled. Based on the results of the study, it was concluded that the ability to write news texts before using picture media in XII MAN 1 Bojonegoro in the Academic Year 2018/2019 was in the category sufficient because the average value of 60.67 and the ability to write news texts after using picture media in class students XII MAN 1 Bojonegoro 1 2018/2019 Academic Year in good category with an average value of 82.75. The normality test results obtained by the pre-test group obtained a price = 0.1217 and = 0.140 it turns out < = 0.1217 <0.140. This proves that the data for writing student news without using image media is not normally distributed. The results of the calculation of variance in the sample groups studied were obtained = 1.38 and = 2.11. Price <ie 1.38 <2.11. This proves that population variance is homogeneous. The results of the calculation of the "t" test are greater than 18.87 which are greater than 2.02. At a significant level of 5%, the results of the calculation of the null hypothesis test were rejected with the alternative hypothesis being accepted. This proves that the image media is influential in writing news texts for eighth grade students of MAN 1 Bojonegoro for the Academic Year 20178/2019.
