Abstract

Abstrack English is considerate to be important to learn because it is one of international languages used to communicate and develop relationship with the countries in the world wide and the competence and it is important in career development. Education is crucial for the survival of one’s life and to advancement of a nation. Improving the quality of human resources is an absolute precondition for achieving development goals. Student achievement is good when student actively learn and supported with guidance from teachers and the role of parents in the family environment. The purpose of this research to know the relationship between parent education level on students’ English achievement and to know the relationship between learning facilities on students’ English achievements. The subject of this research is students at the eighth grade of SMPN 1 Cepu in academic year of 2017/2018. The acquisition of the data obtained from the questionnaires and documentation methods. The instruments research by using the test validity, reliability and normality tests with samples of 22 students on 8B. The data analysis technique used is Multiple Correlation. The results on number of samples of each group was n=22 with a significant level of α=5%. The calculation of the coefficient correlation with the test statistic Rx1x2y is 0.551938, each variables also taken into account through computing obtained as follows rx1y = 0.319392, rx2y = 0.548327 and rx1x2 =0.48176. After the next correlation coefficient (R) obtained calculate the correlation test of significance (Fobs). From these tests are obtained Fobs = 4.161891 and F0.05, 2, 19 = 3.52. Therefore, the concluded that the variable parent education level and learning facilities has a relationship toward the students’ English achievements.
