Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aims to describe and explain the characterization of Rahwana, and the relationship between Rahwana's character in Sujiwo Tejo's novel Rahvayana and Indonesian language learning in SMA. Thus, after reading the results of this study, readers can get a clear picture of Rahwana's characterization and its relationship with Indonesian language learning in high school which is contained in the novel. The form of this research is descriptive qualitative research. The activity undertaken is analyzing the novel Rahvayana by Sujiwo Tejo. The results of these activities are then described in the form of sentences. The data source in this study is the first printed literary work of the novel Rahvayana by Sujiwo published by PT. Bentang Pustaka Ikapi Members in May 2014, journals, articles, and the internet were used as supporting data in this study. The data analysis technique used in this research is observation (observation). After doing this research, it can be concluded that not all psychological needs are humanistic, such as physiological needs which include: (1) The structure that builds Sujiwo Tejo's Rahvayana novel which includes characterization, themes, plot, setting, and point of view. (2) Intertextual forms in terms of Rahwana's characterization in the novel Rahvayana by Sujiwo Tejo. The relationship between these analytical activities and Indonesian language learning in high school is that the novel Rahvayana by Sujiwo Tejo can be used as learning material in schools, because this novel is quite up to the standards in learning. Especially in KD analyzing the contents and language of the novel. Keywords: Novel, Characterization, Psychology ABSTRAK
