Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aims to describe the psychology of literature in the novel HatiSuhita by KhilmaAnis in relation to learning Indonesian in high school. In the research of HatiSuhita's novel, researchers used psychological theory according to Abraham Masllow. According to Masllow there are 5 levels of human needs, namely: 1. Physiological needs, 2. The need for security, 3. The need for love and belonging, 4. The need for self-esteem, 5. The need for selfactualization. This study used descriptive qualitative method. Sources of data obtained from the novel HatiSuhita. The novel used was the first printed novel, April 2019. The data collection in this study was the repeated reading of the novel HatiSuhita. This study has 4 stages, including: data reduction, data exposure, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. Based on the research it can be concluded: (1) Literary psychology in the novel HatiSuhita there are 5 levels of needs according to Masllow, namely: physiological needs, needs for security, needs for love and belonging, self-esteem needs, and self-actualization needs. Physiological needs are basic human needs, namely food, drinks, oxygen, sex, and so forth. The need for security is the need that drives a person to get peace, certainty, and order in his environment. The need for love and belonging can include the desire to be friends, or to have a partner and offspring, the need to be close to his family, and also the desire and receive love. The need for self-esteem is the need for someone to feel that he is a person who should be respected and respected as a good human being. The need for self-actualization is a need that drives the individual to show his potential to be recognized as capable by his environment. (2) Novel HatiSuhita by KhilmaAnis has a relationship with learning Indonesian in high school can be seen in KD. 3.9 which reads analyzing the contents and linguistics of the novel with indicators identifying intrinsic and extrinsic elements in the novel.
